PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the locating accuracy of a boring rod drilling the ground, in a universal drilling method for drilling the ground linearly or curvedly.;SOLUTION: The flexible boring rod 10 has an optical fiber sensor 5a flexible with its flexure deformation. A drilling locus of the boring rod 10 flexibly deformed at the ground drilling time is detected on the basis of the distortion quantity measured by a change of a physical value of light passing the optical fiber sensor 5a.
