PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copyright management apparatus for maintaining copyright management information integrated with digital contents even when the format of the digital contents is converted into a format corresponding to the transmission destination of the digital contents.;SOLUTION: A copyright management apparatus 9 is provided with a communicating part 91, a control part 92 and an RAM 93. The control part 92 receives digital contents addressed to and transmitted to a portable telephone 1 through a communicating part 91, and determines whether or not the received digital contents are in a format corresponding to the portable telephone 1, and when the received digital contents are not in the format corresponding to the portable telephone 1, the control part 91 extracts the copyright management information added to the digital contents, and stores it in the RAM 93 to store the copyright management information. Afterwards, the digital contents are converted by a contents converting server 8, and the stored copyright management information is added to the converted digital contents, and the contents with the copyright management information added thereto are transmitted through a communicating part 91 to the portable telephone 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
