PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved electrode for a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp, its manufacturing method and an improved cold-cathode fluorescent lamp using the same.;SOLUTION: A flange part 14 with a diameter larger than that of a lead-in wire 4, and a cylindrical discharge electrode 3 with an opening having a shape fitting into the flange part are formed, and the flange part is inserted into the opening of the above penetrating electrode to compress and thermally deform the flange part to be closely adhered to the opening of the cylindrical discharge electrode and closed. The cylindrical electrode for the cold cathode fluorescent lamp is formed by welding the closely adhered part by irradiating a laser beam on a face of the cylindrical discharge electrode. A cylindrical (cup-like) electrode can be made, with an easy molding process, by processing a flange part on a rod shaped lead-in wire from the cylindrical (pipe-shaped) discharge electrode which is comparatively easy to apply a molding process, and by inserting, press-fitting and laser-welding the flange-processed part at a part of the lead-in wire.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
