PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for erasing information recorded in a recording medium, its recording medium, and a computer readable recording medium with which a program for implementing the method is recorded.;SOLUTION: This method comprises a step in which test result information about recording power recorded in a recording control region provided in a recording medium is retrieved, a step in which the test result information is reproduced when the test result information is retrieved, a step in which a unique pattern is recorded in at least one part region of a user data region in which the prescribed information of the recording medium is already recorded using recording power based on the reproduced test result. In a repeatedly recordable disk, the recording property can be improved further when new information is recorded on it after at least a part of pieces of information already recorded is erased. That is, in the method to erase information recorded in the recording medium, the recording property and the reproducing property can be improved by introducing an erasing mode in which the unique pattern is recorded and the information is erased and a blank mode.
