PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purification apparatus capable of effectively removing organic matters or inorganic nutrient salts from wastewater (water to be treated) which contains organic matters and inorganic nutrient salts and is the cause of eutrophication, or water (water to be treated) which is eutrophicated in a closed water area of seawater or fresh water, and capable of treating water to be treated of the relatively large amount.;SOLUTION: The bacteria reactor or algae reactor comprises deposition carriers filling a reaction area of the reactor body, and Pseudomonas sp. stain or Navicula sp. diatom stain which is deposited on the surfaces of the deposition carriers. The bacteria reactor decomposes organic matters in the water to be treated. The algae reactor takes inorganic nutrient salts in the water to be treated to remove them. Furthermore, in the water purification apparatus, a discharge port of the bacteria reactor is connected to an inlet port of the algae reactor.
