PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building construction method and a portal rigid frame structure used in it, constructing a bearing wall and an opening part necessary for a building without a brace and a bearing wall in an opening part of the building having a wide space of the opening part.;SOLUTION: The portal rigid frame structure 10 connecting the upper end parts of a pair of column members 1, 1 to each other by a beam member 2 is disposed in the opening part of the building to support the load. A column member 1 of the portal Rahmen structure 10 is formed of a column member having a solid structure. The beam member 2 is composed of a pair of square timbers 41, 42 arranged substantially parallel on the upper and lower sides between a pair of column members 1, 1 and a pair of face materials 23, 24 connecting both side surfaces of the paired square timbers 41, 42 to each other.
