PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting the timing fluctuation of an optical pulse by enlarging a dynamic range without sacrificing time resolution.;SOLUTION: A division/delay element 60 is arranged in the middle of the progress path of a control optical pulse 2A between an optical switch 50 where an on-state region is formed only in an irradiation section when the optical switch 50 is irradiated with a control optical pulse 2A and a light source which emits the control optical pulse 2A. The optical switch 50 is irradiated with incident signal light pulses 1A to 1H, and output optical pulses 3Au to 3Hn transmitted through the on-state region of the optical switch 50 are detected by pixels corresponding to the transmission region of a light detector 70 where a plurality of pixels are two-dimensionally arrayed. A timing calculating part 100 calculates a timing in which the detected signal light pulse has reached the optical switch 50 based on the detection result of the light detector 70.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
