PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate inter-process fast communication independent of a platform.;SOLUTION: This system unmaps a queue from a user's address space. Queue contents are reset in order to initialize the state. Elements supplied to the queue are pushed. Element for queue first in/first out (FIFO) are popped. ELements from the queue are returned without influencing the queue state. ELement contents in the queue are updated then. The queue is locked for exclusive access thereafter. The queue is unlocked to allow the queue to be changed. The system also gives element counts in the queue and logical names of inter-process communication queues. A shared memory-based header held in each inter-process communication queue allows all the clients of the queue to access queue information from a single source.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
