PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the convenience in using an escalator or man conveyor by introducing such an arrangement that the traveling direction can be visually acknowledged even if the passenger is beside the escalator etc. or aslant to its front and thereby preventing the passenger from going by mistake to the step-on place of another escalator or man conveyor traveling in the opposite direction to the direction which the passenger wishes.;SOLUTION: A moving handrail 2 for the escalator 1 or man conveyor is furnished on the surface with markers 10 for allowing the passenger to visually acknowledge the traveling direction of the escalator 1 etc. even if the passenger is beside the escalator etc. or aslant to its front.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
