PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a zinc sulfide nanocable coated with a carbon film and a zinc sulfide nanocable coated with a carbon film to which a tetrapod like zinc sulfide structure is joined.;SOLUTION: The zinc sulfide nanocable coated with a carbon film is manufactured by heating a mixture of zinc sulfide powder with carbon powder at 700-950°C for 30 min to 3 hr under a gaseous nitrogen stream. The zinc sulfide nanocable coated with a carbon film to which the tetrapod like zinc sulfide structure is joined is manufactured by heating the mixture of zinc sulfide powder with carbon powder at 700-950°C for 30 min to 3 hr under a gaseous nitrogen stream and successively heating the mixture at 1,000-1,200°C for 30 min to 2 hr.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
