PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which improves the spectral analysis of jitters in a signal.;SOLUTION: For performing jitter analysis of the signal (330), a jitter spectrum derived from the signal (330) is filtered (370), so that the filtered jitter spectrum substantially only comprises one or more deterministic spectral components, identified as being expected to result from a deterministic jitter component in the signal (330) resulting from a deterministic and non-random cause. A jitter-modulated signal (380) is derived (370) by transforming the filtered identified one or more deterministic spectral components into time domain, wherein the jitter modulated signal (380) represents the deterministic jitter signal (460) modulated on the signal (330).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
