PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program for realizing an automatic performing apparatus and an automatic performing method that enable a player to elaborately practice parts that the player cannot play well. PSOLUTION: The automatic playing apparatus comprises a playback control part 21, which reads out and reproduces (automatically plays) music data 10a stored in an external storage device and also controls the playback style, based on the decision result of a match deciding part 22, the matching decision part 22 which decides whether a musical performance that the player does, by using playing operators 1 matches the automatic performance by the playback control part 21 and remits the decides result to the playback control part 21, and a repetition specification part 23 which specifies some repetition sections as a portion of the automatic performance, by the playback control part 21 during the automatic performance. The playback control part 21 controls the playback style of the music data 10a, based on various parameters so that the player is preferably enabled to freely set values of the various parameters.
