PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a distribution data of splicing losses without the need for great man-hours and expenses.;SOLUTION: By calculating respective axial shift values which can be determined from distribution data of dimensional parameters of a ferrule 1 having a through-hole in the longitudinal direction and of an optical fiber 3 to be inserted thereinto, and/or an angular shift value which can be determined from a distribution data of an angular parameter of the ferrule 1 as the sum total of vector values in the plane vertical to the axial direction of the optical fiber 3 and the ferrule 1, the distributions of the axial shift values and the angular shift values in the connected state are calculated, and a connection loss distribution is calculated therefrom.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
