PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a microencapsulated pigment capable of preparing ink for inkjet recording (IJI) excellent in dispersion stability and delivery stability, excellent in the fastness, mar resistance, and color developing properties, and capable of giving a record with a high print density and a hardly bleeding image; a microencapsulated pigment (MCP), an aqueous dispersion, and the above IJI.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the MCP comprises adding a polymerizable surfactant having a hydrophilic group, a hydrophobic group, and a polymerizable group, a polymerization initiator, and an aqueous medium to a wet pigment, followed by emulsion polymerization to coat the pigment with a polymer.
