PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the subculture of ginseng callus, enabling the change in the properties of seed stocks to be suppressed to a minimum even if a long-term subculture is performed, enabling the activity of seed stocks to be maintained at high levels, as a result, capable of suppressing such problems as to decrease in the harvest of a ginseng callus-cultured product after subculture and/or decrease in the content of secondary metabolites such as saponins produced inside of the ginseng callus-cultured product.;SOLUTION: The method for the subculture of ginseng callus comprises alternately repeating a liquid culture under conditions A and that under conditions B, wherein the conditions B are such that, as compared to the conditions A, the amount of a medium to be used is 110-200 vol.% of that in the conditions A and the concentration of an auxin in the liquid medium is 1/7 to 1/2 time that in the conditions A.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
