PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idea supporting device, an idea supporting method, a recording medium and its program for presenting much more information to stimulate the thinking activity of a user. PSOLUTION: This idea supporting device is provided with a phonemic piece column converting means for converting the phonemic piece of the phonemic piece column of a driving word based on a predetermined rule, a word retrieving means for retrieving a word read in the converted phonemic piece column, a word relevant information retrieving means for retrieving the word relevant information of each retried word, a candidate word managing means for managing each word read in the converted phonemic piece column and each word relevant information by making them correspond to each other and a sentence generating and outputting means for assigning the word relevant information selected by the candidate word managing means to a preliminarily set sentence pattern, and for outputting a sentence to support the idea of a word conceived from the driving word based on the word relevant information.
