PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to identify orientation, dimension and all of the abnormalities of the left atrial appendage (LAA) in a cardiac CT system when an invasive treatment for isolation/embolization of LAA is planned. PSOLUTION: A method (200) of planning embolization of the left atrial appendage (LAA) of a patient includes a process (202) wherein acquisition data is obtained from a medical imaging system and a process (206) wherein a 3D model (130) of a left atrium of the patient is generated. One or more left atrium anatomical landmark is identified (210) on the 3D model (130), and a preserved view of the 3D model (130) is registered in an invasive pattern system (212).
