PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an attack detecting delay of a performance sound of a piano inputted from a microphone in a performance sound decision apparatus, a performance sound decision program and a recording medium which are suitable to detect the attack (rise of a sound of a musical instrument) as basic information of musical sound decision.;SOLUTION: A spectrum generating part 12 calculates a power spectrum by performing the FFT processing of digital data of the performance sound of the piano played according to a playing instruction for every FFT window. An attack detecting part 13 decides whether there is the attack of the performance sound or not depending on whether the power of the calculated power spectrum is increased for more than a scheduled value from that of the calculation of the last time. A spectrum comparing part 14 decides whether a distance between the calculated power spectrum and that of a pitch which is included in the playing instruction among power spectra for every pitch in which power spectra calculated after the decision of the presence of the attack are preliminarily stored is near or not. Moreover, the apparatus is equipped with a means which shifts mutual windows so that front and rear FFT windows are partially overlapped with each other in the FFT processing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
