PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire positioning method and a positioning tool for simply adjusting a balance position of a suspended cargo when performing slinging work for suspending the suspended cargo by a wire.;SOLUTION: In this wire positioning method at the time of slinging work for suspending the suspended cargo 1 by stretching the wire 2 suspended by a hook 3 of a crane or the like over the suspended cargo 1, an interval of the wires 2 stretched over the suspended cargo 1 is adjusted by the positioning tool 5 hooked on the wires 2 between the hook 3 and the suspended cargo 1.
