PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for obtaining by a simple means a crosslinked product of a poly-γ-glutamic acid which has a high absorption ratio and is applicable to a water-absorbing resin for paper diapers, sanitary items and the like, and the crosslinked product of the poly-γ-glutamic acid.;SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the crosslinked product of the poly-γ-glutamic acid comprises irradiating a poly-γ-glutamic acid solution containing the poly-γ-glutamic acid with electron beams, where the poly-γ-glutamic acid solution having a poly-γ-glutamic acid concentration of 1-20 mass% and a pH of at least 6 is prepared and put into a container made of a synthetic resin and is irradiated with electron beams at an irradiation dose of 10-200 kGy with the height of the poly-γ-glutamic acid solution in the container of at most 20 mm in the irradiation direction of the electron beams. The thus-obtained crosslinked product of the poly-γ-glutamic acid can be utilized as the absorbing resin for paper diapers, sanitary items, soil-improving agents and the like.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
