PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect eggs in a state of being mounted on a tray to enhance the inspection precision of a blood spot.;SOLUTION: A plurality of eggs are placed on a tray 22 and first floodlight having a predetermined wavelength is projected on the eggs exposed from the tray while second floodlight having a wavelength not longer than the predetermined wavelength is projected to receive not only the first floodlight transmitted through the eggs as first detection light but also the second floodlight transmitted through the eggs as second detection light. Then, it is determined whether the egg has the blood spot, corresponding to a blood spot determining threshold value for determining the blood spot and the detection quantities of first and second detection lights.
