PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the inclination of left and right images when the convergence is doubled while reducing operator's burdens by deflecting the optical axes of left and right optical systems.;SOLUTION: Respective left and right magnifiers are provided with a magnifying optical system and a roof prism 12a for internal-reflecting the incident luminous flux four times and reversing the image in vertical and horizontal directions. An intersection L23 of the 2nd and 3rd reflection planes S2 and S3 crosses with a plane having an intersection L14 of 1st and 4th reflection planes S1 and S4 of the roof prism as a normal line by an angle ϕ[°](ϕ≠0). Provided that axes aligning with the left and right visual axes assumed when an object distance is infinite at a 1st eye position are expressed by XL and XR, rotation with the aforesaid axes as rotating axes is expressed by γ-rotation, an axis vertically intersecting the axes XL and XR in the position of the roof prism is expressed by Z, an axis vertical to the axes XL and Z is expressed by YL, an axis vertical to the axes XR and Z is expressed by YR, and rotation with the YL and YR as the rotating axes is expressed by β-rotation, the β-rotation of the left and right magnifiers is performed so that the optical axis and the visible axis may align with each other, and then, the γ-rotation is performed and the convergence is adjusted, and the inclination of the image is corrected by setting the angle ϕ.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
