PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate laser-beam deflection with a simple method, to simplify a method for controlling laser-beam emission timing etc. and to facilitate assembly work. PSOLUTION: A multi-beam laser scanning unit is equipped with a plurality of laser diodes 121, 122 to emit laser beams and a rotary polygon mirror 130 to deflect the respective laser beams emitted from the plurality of laser diodes in a main scanning direction A of a photoconductive medium 80, and is constructed by arranging the plurality of laser diodes in a line so that a connecting line of a plurality of focal points formed by the laser beams forms a line substantially vertical to the main scanning direction on the photoconductive medium. The multi-beam laser scanning unit may further be equipped with a plurality of delay circuits 123, 124 connected to the respective laser diodes to delay a beam emission time of a first-emitted laser beam going along the main scanning direction of the photoconductive medium among the laser beams emitted from the plurality of laser diodes.
