PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for reducing operation by an operator in the production of thumbnails for an encrypted document.;SOLUTION: When there is an instruction for encryption by the operator, a thumbnail is created for a document, which is not encrypted yet, and then the document is encrypted. A thumbnail file is associated with a document file, and whenever necessary, the thumbnail of the document can be displayed. When an encrypted document is brought back from the outside, the operator is made to enter a password, and after the password is hashed, the password is used as a key for decoding the document. A thumbnail file is created, and then, the document is encrypted.
