PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform next recording operation immediately after recording an image requiring an ink drying time and to reduce deterioration of image, e.g. offset, due to overlapping of recording media under non-dried state.;SOLUTION: A distribution member 42 distributes each page of recording media being discharged onto a discharge tray 41 to the right and left in the width direction intersecting the carrying direction of the recording medium perpendicularly. Movement guide members 43a and 43b for regulating the width direction end part of the recording media being discharged onto the discharge tray 41 are moved in the width direction of the recording medium according to the size thereof and, while distributing each page of recording media to the right and left in the width direction by means of the distribution member 42, the width direction end part of the recording media is regulated by means of the guide members 43a and 43b. Consequently, the media are stacked while superposing the right end part in the width direction of a recording medium S1 distributed to the left in the width direction on the left end part in the width direction of a recording medium S2 distributed to the left in the width direction vertically at the central part in the width direction between the guide members.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
