PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resynchronization method for minimizing downtime in an appliance-based business continuance architecture. PSOLUTION: At least one primary data storage, a primary host, and an intercept agent intercepting data requests of the primary host, and collecting information associated with the data requests are included. A business continuance appliance is provided for communicating with the primary host and a remote backup site. The appliance receives the information associated with the intercepted data requests from the intercept agent. A local cache is included within the business continuance appliance. The local cache maintains copies of the primary data storage according to the received information.
