PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying road network elements to be updated without depending on the version of a plurality of databases or the version of the previously wholly or partially corrected database. PSOLUTION: The method comprises: receiving database update information for identifying at least one road intersection; constructing a logical representation of the road topology surrounding the at least one road intersection; and identifying the at least one road intersection in the navigation database by comparing the logical representation to a logical representation of the navigation database.
