PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high silicon stainless steel having large breaking elongation, a spring formed of the stainless steel, and method for manufacturing the high silicon stainless steel.;SOLUTION: The high silicon stainless steel mainly consists of microstructure with the grain size of ≤ 15μm, and the breaking elongation thereof is ≥ 12%. The high silicon stainless steel mainly consists of microstructure with the grain size of ≤ 7 μm, and the breaking elongation thereof is ≥ 14%. The breaking elongation after the thermal aging is ≥ 10%. In the high silicon stainless steel manufacturing method, the surface temperature is ≤ 850°C, and the method includes a load applying step of applying the impact load and/or the static load in a temperature range in which the high silicon stainless steel or base alloy is not cracked.
