PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic forming coil of excellent durability and an electromagnetic forming method which enable magnetic field to be concentrated without using any magnetic flux concentrator. PSOLUTION: A conductive wire 1 having a structure in which a surface of a core wire 6 of square section is covered with an insulating material 7 of a thickness of T is tightly wound in aligned condition around a shaft part 2 made of an insulating material so that the interval of the core wire 6 is 2T. A flange part 3 made of an insulating material is formed on a proximal end part of the shaft part 2. The sectional area of the core wire 6 wound around an end part of the shaft part 2 is smaller than the sectional area of the core wire 6 wound around other parts. In other words, a portion 6a wound around the end part of a shaft part 12 of the core wire 6 is thinner than the other portion 6b.
