COMPATIBLE PROGRAM ABSTRACTING METHOD, AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ABSTRACTING HIGH-ORDER COMPATIBLE PROGRAM

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To abstract a high-order compatible program from among a plurality of programs having the same contents without imposing burden on a user. PSOLUTION: In this method, a program to be broadcasted and having the same contents as a video recorded program is searched, the difference between the video recorded program and the program to be broadcasted is abstracted, and the result is presented to a user if the difference satisfies predetermined standards. In abstracting the difference, a priority based on the information of user's taste is given to a plurality of types of meta data correlated to each of the programs when the difference is abstracted, and the meta data corresponding to each other are compared to abstract a high-order compatible program on the basis of both the priority and a result of comparison.
