AUTOMATIC SLUICE GATE OPENING-CLOSING SYSTEM INTERLOCKING WITH EMERGENCY EARTHQUAKE QUICK REPORT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem by developing a system for automatically closing sluices for preventing a seismic wave disaster before causing liquefaction before main motion arrives by utilizing an emergency earthquake quick report.;SOLUTION: Information on initial slow motion (P wave) when an earthquake occurs, is immediately transmitted to a place of refuge near to a hypocenter as the emergency earthquake quick report when a real-time earthquake information use conference receives the information. The place of refuge advises refuge behavior to residents when predicted seismic intensity N is stronger than 5 by analyzing the emergency earthquake quick report from the real-time earthquake information use conference, and indicates a countermeasure against the earthquake to the controlling sluices A, B and C. The sluices A, B and C are closed when receiving indication of the countermeasure against the earthquake from the place of refuge, to prepare for an arrival of main motion (S wave) of the earthquake and an arrival of a predicted seismic wave after four minutes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
