AGENT FOR DECREASING TOTAL NITROGEN IN WASTE WATER AND WASTE WATER TREATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for decreasing total nitrogen in waste water, with which suspended matter-containing waste water such as sewage, excreta and industrial effluent is treated so that the total nitrogen in the treated waste water can be decreased and to provide a method for treating waste water by using this agent.;SOLUTION: This agent for decreasing total nitrogen in waste water comprises a polymer containing 30-100 mol% structural unit containing at least one selected from an acryloyloxyethyldialkylbenzylammonium salt structural unit and a methacryloyloxyethyldialkylbenzylammonium salt structural unit. This method for treating waste water comprises the steps of adding a flocculant and this agent for decreasing total nitrogen to waste water to flocculate the suspended matter in the waste water and removing the obtained flocculate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
