PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active compound by an asymmetric catalytic reaction using a transition metal complex compound as a catalyst having an optically active diene compound as a ligand and to obtain an optically active cyclic diene compound and a new lanthanoide compound- or actinoid compound-containing transition metal complex compound.;SOLUTION: The optically active compound is obtained by subjecting a prochiral compound to a reaction in the presence of the transition metal complex compound having the optically active diene compound as a ligand. The optically active diene compound is preferably the optically active cyclic diene compound represented by general formula (1) (the compound in the formula contains at least one asymmetric carbon; n and n' are each an integer of 1-5; R1-R8 are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or the like; at least one of R5-R8 is a substituent group except hydrogen), especially preferably an optically active cyclic diene compound containing a bicyclo ring structure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
