PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable authentication using only biometric authentication data by enabling each user to register and store such authentication data.;SOLUTION: A user sends personal information via a PS domain 23 and sends a sound (the user's voice) via a CS domain 24, both from a cellular telephone 10 to a registration center 30. The registration center processes the user's voice to generate audio data, combines them with the user's personal information, sends the combination back to the cellular telephone, and deletes all the audio data used in the processing. At authentication time, for example, the combination data are sent from the cellular telephone to a user authentication apparatus (vending machine 80), and the user's voice is input into a microphone attached to the user authentication apparatus. The user authentication apparatus verifies the personal information and compares the audio data and data on the directly input voice to determine whether or not to sell an article to the user, and deletes the audio data used in the authentication.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
