PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate troublesome works such as performing on-site maintenance at the time of revising a license, re-installing an application using the revised license, and to secure security in an intranet.;SOLUTION: This license management system comprises a client machine 102 connected to the intranet 101, a management terminal 103, and an approval server 106 connected to the Internet 104 connected to the intranet 101 via a firewall 105. The client machine 102 transmits an electronic mail including revision contents of the license, decodes an encryption key included in the returned electronic mail and determines the presence of approval for the revision contents of the license. The approval server 106 determines whether or not the revision contents of the license included in the received electronic mail should be accepted and returns an electronic mail including an encryption key to which the determination result is added.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
