PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a lithographic printing plate having a high print wear by on-machine development and use it for printing.;SOLUTION: The lithographic printing original plate which has an image forming layer containing an infrared ray absorbent, a polymerization initiator, an ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable compound, and a substantially non-cross-linked modified polyvinyl alcohol having the side chain containing an ethylenic unsaturated bond, at least the ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable compound being packed in microcapsules and the modified polyvinyl alcohol being arranged outside the microcapsules and a hydrophilic support, is imagewise exposed to cross-link and cure the exposed region.
