PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel imaging device and a tablet inspecting imaging system applied with the same capable of imaging an obverse and a reverse face serving as a direct view face, and a side face serving as an indirect view face at the same time, using a tablet as an inspection object, capable of executing inspection quickly and extremely accurately, and capable of constructing the imaging device and the system inexpensively. PSOLUTION: This imaging device of the present invention is provided with an imaging part 6 for imaging the surface of the tablet W, a conveying part 7 for feeding the tablets W one by one to the imaging part 6, and an image processing part 8 for reading out the picked-up image to determine the presence of a defect such as a chip and a foreign matter on the surface of the tablet W, and inspects and determines the quality (nondefective/defective) of the tablet W. For example, all the peripheral side faces S of the tablet W are imaged at the same time when the obverse F and the reverse face B thereof are imaged, by a special optical system using a convex lens as a main member.
