DECOLORING METHOD AND APPARATUS USING OZONE FOR DISCOLORED WASTEWATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method and apparatus for decoloring primarily livestock wastewater.;SOLUTION: This method decolors discolored wastewater by using ozone. An ozone treatment apparatus (A) has electrolytic ozone water generators (6, 8) that generate ozone water on the anode sides and alkaline water on the cathode sides. Discolored components-containing wastewater to be treated is supplied to the anode-side passages (6a, 8a) and the cathode-side passages (6b, 8b) of the electrolytic ozone water generators respectively. Discolored components are decomposed by the ozone water generated in the anode-side passage (6a, 8a) to produce ozone-treated wastewater, and alkaline wastewater is produced in the cathode-side passages (6b, 8b). The ozone-treated wastewater and the alkaline wastewater are mixed to accelerate the decomposition reactions of the discolored components. In the method, hydrogen peroxide solution may be added to the wastewater to be treated, and after separating undissolved ozone gas contained in the ozone-treated wastewater, the ozone gas may be mixed beforehand in the wastewater to be treated supplied to the electrolytic ozone water generators.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
