METALLIC SHORT FIBER FOR REINFORCING MONOLITHIC REFRACTORY, ITS PRODUCING METHOD, AND MONOLITHIC REFRACTORY REINFORCED WITH METALLIC SHORT FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metallic short fibers which exhibit low agitation resistance at the time of kneading, can be uniformly dispersed and have improved reinforcing effect, a method for producing the same, and a monolithic refractory reinforced with the metallic short fiber.;SOLUTION: The metallic short fibers are kneaded into the monolithic refractory, and each fiber has a thickness of 0.2 mm, a length of 5-40 mm, a flat ratio of the cross section perpendicular to the axial direction of ≥5 and a twist in the axial direction. The metallic short fibers are produced, preferably, by milling cutting. The monolithic refractory reinforced with the metallic short fibers is obtained by adding the metallic short fibers in an amount of 0.5-10 wt.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
