PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition as a seismic isolating rubber which is obtained by a simple and economical treatment process and is free from the damage of the covering rubber and hard to cause aging of the rubber itself for an extended period of use, a method of application of the composition to a seismic isolating device and a seismic isolating device obtained by it.;SOLUTION: The seismic isolating rubber composition contains a rubber component and a tetramethyl ammonium salt. The rubber composition as used as the seismic isolating rubber has an improved gas-barrier ability in the rubber itself and yet maintains flexibility required for the seismic isolating rubber. The seismic isolating device whose rubber undergoes only a small change in the physical properties is obtained by using the rubber composition in the form of a sheet or the like.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
