PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of driving a variable valve timing mechanism at appropriate engine speed and suppressing a rise in the center of gravity of the engine, and a motorcycle preventing a conflict between a main flame and the engine in a place where the main flame is extendedly provided.;SOLUTION: The engine E mounted to the motorcycle 1 is equipped with a crankshaft 30, camshafts 42, 43 rotating interlocked with the crankshaft 30 and opening/closing a valve, and the variable valve timing mechanism 34 changing opening/closing timing or opening/closing amount of the valve.
