METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECEIVING DIGITAL TELEVISION SIGNAL USING SPACE DIVERSITY AND BEAM FORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a receiver for receiving digital television signal using space diversity and at least one beam formatter in order to improve quality of a received digital television signal.;SOLUTION: The receiver with many beam forming device is provided with many converters which respectively convert radio signals received through corresponding many antennas into base band signals; a channel estimation apparatus which receives output signals of the many converters and output signals of the many beam forming devices, presumes channels for corresponding many respective antennas, and outputs a control signal; at least one controller which receives output signals of the many beam forming devices, delays the output signals of the respective many beam forming devices for a predetermined time following to the corresponding control signals, and outputs the delayed output signal; and an adder which combines output signals of at least the one controller. Therefore, the method and the receiver receiving the digital television signal have quick convergence speed, and effect to reduce burden of channel compensation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
