PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass for seal in which a clearance between an electrochemical ceramic element unit and a ceramic sleeve can be sealed easily and surely and in which a seal failure does not occur even if temperature cycles are repeated, the electrochemical ceramic element unit using this, and a manufacturing method of the electrochemical ceramic element unit. PSOLUTION: This is the glass 17 for the seal which seals the clearance between a cell 15 for a fuel cell in which an electrochemical characteristic varies according to surrounding gas compositions and the electrically insulating ceramic sleeve 16 into which this cell 15 for the fuel cell is inserted, and the porosity of which is 5 to 40%.
