PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring precisely and easily a ratio of three kinds of stable oxygen isotopes in the atmosphere or dissolved gas, and an O2 isolation device used therefor. PSOLUTION: A gas chromatography unit having a sample gas introducing part 2, a molecular sieve packed column 7 and an analytical part 6, has a means 9 for cooling the molecular sieve packed column 7, the first trap 4 for adsorption-removing COSB2/SB, NSB2/SBO and steam, the second trap 5 for adsorption-collecting OSB2/SBgas, NSB2/SBgas and Ar gas in the sample gas introducing part 2, and the third trap 8 for adsorption-collecting OSB2/SBgas in an analytical part output end, and isolates OSB2/SBgas from the atmosphere or dissolved gas. An isotope fractionation effect is corrected in the isolated OSB2/SBgas to find the ratio of three kinds of stable oxygen isotopes, by a dual inlet type isotope mass spectrometer.
