PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardness testing machine capable of more accurately excluding the effect due to the strain of a machine body to keep measuring precision, and a method for correcting the strain of the machine body in the hardness testing machine.;SOLUTION: In the hardness testing machine (1) equipped with a load arm operating part 6 for producing force, a load arm 4 for transmitting the produced force to a penetrator (3), a spring displacement quantity sensor 64 for measuring the force transmitted to the penetrator and an arm position sensor 8 for measuring the displacement quantity of the penetrator when the penetrator, to which the force is transmitted, is pushed in the sample placed on a sample stand 5, a CPU 93 corrects the strain component of the machine body including the sample stand produced according to the force transmitted through the penetrator.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
