PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic material which efficiently absorbs two photons.;SOLUTION: The azo compound performs the non-resonance two-photon absorption. For example, the compound is a metal azochelate compound expressed by formula (1). In formula (1), A₁ represents a residue which forms a five-member or six-member heterocycle together with the carbon atom or the nitrogen atom coupled with A₁, X represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom, Y represents an alkyl group having at least two fluorine atoms substituted, and each of R₂₁ and R₂₂ represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a residue forming a ring of R₂₁ and R₂₂.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
