A programmable data encryption engine for implementing the cryptographic functions of the AES algorithm performs AES selection functions in the first mode and performs an inverse with GF-1 (28) and applies an affine over GF (2) transformation A parallel look-up that acquires a sub byte transformation in response to a first data block for converting the SubByte transform to a SubByte conversion and acquires a shift row conversion in the second mode A bull system and a Galois field multiplier for converting a shift row transform to obtain a mix column transform and a round key to provide an AES encryption function for the first data block.
