MANUFACTURING METHOD OF WHITE PIGMENT OR WHITE FILLER FROM PAPERMAKING SLUDGE, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving manufacture technique which permits the manufacture of a white pigment or a white filler exhibiting sufficient whiteness and softness. PSOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises a drying step for drying raw material sludge in a drier 3, a primary combustion step for burning the resultant dried sludge in a primary combustion furnace 5 to obtain a primarily burnt matter containing unburned ingredients, and a secondary combustion step for feeding the primarily burnt matter into a secondary combustion furnace 6 and burning the primarily burnt matter, while accelerating the contact thereof with oxygen by agitation, to such an extent that the primarily burnt matter gets a predetermined whiteness by utilizing the combustion heat in the primary combustion step.
