PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium for a plant belonging to the genus Cypripedium macranthum enabling its seedlings to be mass-produced at a time through improving germination rate and also suppressing occurrence of their browning decay during culture after germination to raise their survival rate. SOLUTION: A method for culturing a plant belonging to the genus Cypripedium macranthum comprising the steps of sorting seeds, sterilely sowing the seeds mixed in a culture solution on a medium, culturing the seeds until they germinate, making a subculture of the germinated and organ-differentiated seeds by substituting the medium, exposing the cultured seedlings grown in the subculture step to a low-temperature ambience, and potting the thus exposed seedlings comprising transplanting them in soil for their cultivation, involves using the medium which is prepared by incorporating 1,000 mL of an aqueous solution with 1-3 g of a fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, 1-3 g of peptone, 10-30 g of saccharides 0.2-1.0 mL of a plant activator and 16-70 mg of vitamins.
