HORIZONTAL-AXIS WIND-TURBINE AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal-axis wind-turbine which has a redundant function for measuring wind-direction/wind-speed, while having a simple and inexpensive constitution, and being capable of preventing stop of operation for power-generation due to failure of a wind-direction indicator or a wind-speed indicator. PSOLUTION: The horizontal-axis wind turbine includes one wind-direction indicator, and a rotor 4, which rotates about a rotation axis X extending in the nearly horizontal direction. The rotation axis X of the rotor 4 rotates around in a nearly horizontal plane in accordance with the wind direction. The wind turbine includes further a sheet member 5 provided at the rotation-center part of the rotor 4 and extending in the parallel and perpendicular directions with respect to the rotation axis X of the rotor 4, two wind-speed indicators A, B placed oppositely with the sheet member 5 between them, and a control means controlling a yaw angle of the rotor 4 based on the difference or ratio between wind-speeds measured by the two wind-speed indicators A, B.
